I was looking at these ereaders last year, but don't believe the technology is there yet. They alsop cost an arm-an-a-leg. Besides the books available tend to be the popularist books. Try getting IVP background commentary. It wouldn't be great investment on that basis for me.

I agree with the reduction of paper and tend to use a paperless office myself, by scanning everything in and tagging the lot.

How do you deal with the section of the church that doesn't even have a mobile phone or even a computer! I'm surprised at the quite strong antagonism still present in many churches against computers.

My dad showed off his new Barnes and Noble Nook to me at Christmas time. Seems like people will be moving to digital book readers more so I think this trend will continue. It makes sense for churches to adopt the technology as well.

I use 1and1 templates for our church website. Is there a way to back them up?
http://central-united-church.org

I was using Front Page, then switched to Dreamweaver, but I found there isn't enough time to design a website. Also, templates make it so much easier to train others to upload to 1and1 as there is a tiny learning curve.

Hope you know of a backup. I am told there isn't a way to back up template sites.

thanks,

When booting up press f8 and load last known good config that worked, this worked for me after trying new memory and everything else suggested. How simple can it be?

Depends what you mean by bad theology. Personally I think Arianism is good theology, but not as good as Unitarianism ;)

My take on this would be that if you're the kind of group that likes to assume that everything about the Divine is known by their particular group, and everyone else is wrong, then you're unlikely to have the humility to take on board ideas about good web design, standards, etc.

I'm trying to decide how to respond to this. First I should reveal _my_ bias, as I earn my living with .Net and am very glad for it. If you think the above is bad, did you ever try it with VB5 or VB6?? I think you could make this article a little more by offering a snapshot of the same code in whatever technology it is that you are advocating. And have you taken any recent looks at the technology? Since you wrote this, there have been several major releases of the framework, and while each has added new features and complexity, it has also made a lot of things much simpler or easier. And come on, did you really grok how to do the same thing in PHP or Java or Python or whatever that much faster? I mean really? If you did, I would be interested in hearing about it.
