Practicing what I Preach?

June 17th, 2003 Posted in Luke 6:42

As I get closer and closer to fielding the new RBC, I was rudely reminded today to update the site to VerseScrape 0.2. Or if you would for a moment think in the voice of Daffy Duck “ya got parenthesisss proBlems there pal … ya gotta practice what ya preach.

You can stop spitting now.

And while we’re on the topic of yanking a plank outta my eye … after some email admonitions lovingly employed by Father Flanders over some Macs and menu issues, an issue originally identified by Richard Hall, I’m going to go ahead and use a newer version of the drop-down menu code I use on the old site. Milonic.

This menu system was also suggested in last weeks “redux” post by Sparticus … I’d be curious to know if he originally discovered that menu here … only because it again means I really need to (that Daffy Duck voice again) … “practice what ya preach bucko.

Fortunately, I had developed dynamic data templates for three different drop down menu systems, so swapping one in and out won’t be that hard. You can see the test page for yourself. Yes, just one page … for now … until its thoroughly tested … that I believe is even visible to you users of Opera 7.

Thanks for keeping me square guys!

So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. - Matthew 23:3

I wish I had found out about it from you, instead I spent about a week looking for one that I could use after seeing a really fancy similar one on a band website. I spent 2 days trying to steal that, but it never worked, eventualy I found the milonic site, and I sighed a huge sigh of relief. Hooray!

Ah yes! It works lovely now, good work. Although there are some minor issues, like it is slightly wider than the blue bar, but nothing worth worrying aboout…
