Obfuscator in PHP

May 3rd, 2003 Posted in Links

Via my referral list, I discovered a PHP version of the Mean Dean Anti-Spam Email Ofuscator by the mCom Development Studios … or as they describe it “code should help conceal the email addresses you list on your site from spammers. It’s especially useful for email addresses drawn from a database (like in a phonebook application) .”

Also via the good folks at mCom was a link to a related article that explains “Why Am I Getting All This Spam?” by the Center for Democracy & Technology — and the need for obfuscation.

Thanks mCom, or as Strong Bad would say … now That’s what I’m talking about!

You’re welcome. I’m not sure how the code wound up over at mCom (I uploaded it at Zend.com: http://www.zend.com/codex.php?id=975&single=1 ), but I’m glad it’s helping people. It never would have occurred to me without the inspiration of your own obfuscator!
