What is RSS and why

What is RSS and why do I care?
RSS is an acronym for Really Simple Syndication. RSS is a Web content syndication format. RSS is dialect of XML. RSS, when done correctly, gets other people to advertise your site for you.
Since last week, David Winer has talking quite a bit about RSS. Wait, that’s not true, he’s always had alot to say about rss.
Its just that recently the standard has been making alot of noise as it screaches towards version 2.0.
Of course, all these points are moot as the larger Christian media outlets still insist on the newsletter/email methods of dispensing information. Don’t they realize that when properly implemented, RSS gives others the ability to bring you visitors by via abstracts, links and titles YOU control? AARRRGGG!
