Hast thy WayBackMachine hijacked ?

PORN WARNING – it may just be my leg of the network, but any time I enter a web site to view on the The Internet Archive: WayBack Machine – I’m getting re-directed to a PORN site. Especially disturbing when I wanted to see the 1998 version of RedlandBaptist.org.

If you are tempted by such stuff, and/or under-age, please do NOT check it out (instead go here). If you aren’t, would you mind confirming this and then sending an e-mail off to the good people at archive.org ? I already have – but it might not hurt to get confirmation.

Update - Dave Winer at Scripting.com confirms. Hooo-boy … it’s going to be a long day for someone.

Update- Chris (H. Laco?) leaves us a comment that may point the hack at a Chunk Handling Vulnerability found on older/unpatched versions of the Apache web server. Thanks!

    The site http://www.archive.org is running Apache/1.3.20 Sun Cobalt (Unix) mod_ssl/2.8.4 OpenSSL/0.9.6b PHP/4.1.2 mod_auth_pam_external/0.1 FrontPage/ mod_perl/1.25 on Linux. FAQ
