Again, thank you for letting me do the the critique here.

I am not saying you shouldn't put a picture of the church up on the web site, but how it is rendered, and on which page it is rendered needs to be re-considered. Perhaps it would be better served in the context of a direction page that includes the maps as well?

Your slogan, as I said, is almost there. I'm glad to hear it is a condensed version of your mission statement. I'm just saying it needs about another hours worth of brain storming. In other words, it's almost there ... but like a "good" soup, it need "something" to make it a "great" soup.

Cheap clip art. The man-at-work sign. The logo on the top right hand corner of the home page (/images/image1.gif). The text graphics on the right column of your newsletter page (/midweek/picture/outreach.gif). Rachel has a much better example of anti-aliasing than I could describe here in words. Also, I'll be posting an article on graphics which includes topics like anti-aliasing.

As for the children making the logo, that's great they are involved, then perhaps use that graphic to splash up their own page. And go one step further into it by creating a subdomain ... youth.littletonchristianchurch.org ... which doesn't cost your host anything but some configuration.

I'll e-mail you about the rest

Hi! Thanks for the critique. After reading through it I felt a bit of a rebuttal was needed:

Yes, graphics are bloated, I knew that. But I disagree that a picture of the church isn't important. You want people to be able to find you and if they don't know what they're looking for in a neighborhood crowded with churches, they may not.

The "Caring for people..." is the condensed version of our mission, it's on the site at the request of our Elders and can't be "tweaked". Besides, changing it could change the meaning and that would be bad.

Not sure what you mean by "cheap clip art". The skateboarding guy in the kids section was designed by the children. Yes, we want a professional look, but not at the expense of others who want to contribute.

Can you clarify what you mean by "more concisely"?

Can you tell us how to do "anti-aliasing" without the expensive graphics editors? Is there a free one out there that will do that? Is there a way to do it with Paint?

I agree whole heartedly on the "under construction" thing on the missions page. You want to give our missions team a call for me? :)

I am aware of the 404 issue, but other issues are more pressing. Please email me regarding the security issue since that would be our highest priority.

Thank you for the critique. You have given us some helpful advice. I do have a suggestion for you. When doing a critique, keep in mind that a site is an extension of a body of believers and as such will never be as "polished" as a business site, nor should it be.
