One of the pleasures of this site is e-mail from some rather pleasant and helpful folks … including Rachel Cunliffe, who recently set-up a bulletin board where you can get your site critiqued for free.
Personally, I find her advice worth more than that, but like myself, she’s a bit disappointed at the sinfully bad church websites out there.
About the only thing I could possibly I can find wrong with this site .. well 2 things ..
- the more sites that improve via her site, the less site I have to critique here (like there is any shortage !-)
- she’s already running into folks who after receiving her advice, are either making excuses or telling her modify her approach.
It reminds me of when I used to sing opera. There were those who would sing for free, and as a result, got treated like dirt. I on the other hand would demand pay of some sort, which you would think would indebt me more, but instead caused directors and such to treat me better. Then again, opera is a weird world.
About the only advice I’d give to Rachel is …
- don’t censor based on content unless you want legal problems downline …
- … charge a one time subscription fee to join and get critiqued
