Bowser Browsers
Man, I sure wish the guys and gals at the Web Standards Project would retool and get Phase II out the door.
Until then, I’m going to pray and pray hard that God “speaks” to everyone who hasn’t upgraded their browsers … at least past Netscape &/or MSIE versions 4.n !!!!
There is no excuse for being such sluggards …
… that is unless of course you want to see me pull my hair out with the new RBC front page, trying to get it to work and play nice for some BUGGY OLD BROWSERS !
No lie, instead of being slick with positional divisions, I used tables within tables (don’t worry, I’m working on a pennance for this sin as we wpeak) … I figured that this would again be all things to all browsers.
YEAH RIGHT. The background=” …jpg” I use on the column tag of the parent table (that contains the child table) is defaulted to the column tags of the chid table ! AAAGGGGSDAGAAAAAA!!!!!!!
As it stands, NS 4.0n users can’t see the DHTML menus on the front page.
Part of me says to rebuke them … in a nice grace-filled way … put them out so to speak and love them back into the fold when they upgrade. The other part says to endure it and deal with it.
